Gapsted Wines won the Best Fortified category at the recent North East Wine Challenge.
The award, which was for our soon to be released Limited Release Vintage Touriga, was won after judges tasted a large selection of wines from across the Alpine Valleys, Beechworth, Rutherglen, Glenrowan and the King Valley wine regions.
The Alpine Valleys, within which Gapsted Wines is located, was chosen as the best wine region in Victoria's North East area.
Gapsted Wines also won Gold and Silver awards for a number of its other wines, including the Valley Selection 2016 Riesling - which also won a Silver Award at the 2016 Melbourne International Wine Competition - and Limited Release 2016 Fiano.

The 2014 vintage of our popular Limited Release Saperavi is now in stock.
A favourite among our customers, this unique wine displays a very deep purple/red colour. The nose shows complex aromas of spearmint, liquorice, spicy plum, star anise and blackcurrant.
These aromas lead to a full bodied and textured wine with rich fleshy plum and fruitcake flavours, solid tannins and a long persistent juicy finish.
This wine is excellent with Osso Bucco, chargrilled lamb backstrap or slow cooked lamb shanks, and has a peak drinking period from now to 2020.
